From Colic & Night Terrors

to a Thriving Teen

She was a baby with colic and night terrors that turned into a girl with chronic migraines. She shares, “I started care with chronic migraines. I went to the neurologist, and they just put me on a bunch of medications. All they really did was mask the pain. It never went to the root of the problem.”

Unfortunately, these medications started having adverse effects resulting in Presley frequently missing school, something very out of character for her.

Her mom shares, “There would be times where she couldn’t even remember her own name. The doctors actually made a joke about the meds being like dope! They said that experiencing severe anxiety, her inability to remember her own name, and her cognitive ability being severely damaged were all normal side effects. Presley is in all AP classes, but she would get extremely anxious due to the medication about her classes. We tried meds, arrosti, everything.

Presley had a static migraine for about 6 months. It was constant. We ended up giving her hydrocodone, and it didn’t cut through Presley’s pain at all. We thought she could have had a tumor. I took her to the traditional doctors because that’s all I knew to do. But everything they did just ended up really messing with her.“

She went on to say, “Chiropractic is so different and it’s been amazing. Dr. Ashley and Dr. Rudy could actually explain what was going on. No other doctor we saw would. Every step of the way we could see and were informed on how her body was adjusting.

We wound up at the ER for it as well. We’ve been dealing with this for a pretty long time."

Over a few years, Lucy's journey was marked by two significant challenges: seizures and extreme change in behavior.

Mom said "I was trying everything that I could think of, all her minerals were right, she had the best quality food, but It wasn't working. It was hard because as a mom, you want your kid to be taken care of, you don't want them to be struggling, but it seemed so much like she was. It was really difficult to watch. I knew what she was capable of, I knew her personality and that was not it. And the seizures- those wrecked me. It was a lot, and it hit really fast."
